The Federation consists of 66 rowing clubs, which are organised in eight regional federations. There are about 6000 rowers in Sweden.
Due to the climate, the racing season is short. It lasts from the middle of April (with very uncertain weather conditions) to the middle of October. In the southern part of our country it is sometimes possible to train on water even during wintertime, thanks to the “mild” climate, but further north (The middle), the lakes start freezing in the the middle of November.
